I first fell in love with writing in the fifth-grade, when my teacher taught us the art of the five-paragraph essay. I loved the structure this method of writing provided, a vehicle to tell stories, an avenue to be heard. From there, I wrote for student newspapers in college, but left journalism after the media’s role in hyping the Second Iraq War in 2003. But, I’ve been writing ever since.
I am a living organism on the planet Earth. While I’m here, I’m a father to a budding rap star and an escaped educator. I am a reader. This website is the space where my thinking, lived experiences, and stories live.
